Lavender, Aqua, Silver & Ivory – lovebirds, wishing trees, putting greens, flip-flops, candy buffet, chic barn, candlelight.  Sounds pretty amazing, especially since this wedding was a year or so before natural vintage chic became a trend.  Davina planned out so many perfect details, in return a perfect July day awaited her & her guests, creating an unforgettable night!

Everything about this wedding was sweet, the couple, the flowers, the cake, the photographers, the day…you get the idea!  I loved working with Samantha & Tyler; even though they lived out of state, it was great connecting over meetings, email & phone chats!  The talented Rita & Joel (the Wiebners) provided these beautiful pics.  Love the lighting captured in them, so warm & lovely, just like Samantha & Tyler together!

New Year! · 1 Comment · Jan 3, 2012 · Blog ·

My hopeful New Year’s resolution is to blog more (which if I do 1, I’m pretty sure that’s better already!), but I first will try to send out a few more quick pics of past weddings, to get me closer to current!  So here goes!  Crossing my fingers that more will come sooner than later, though I’m excited for my first 2012 weddings, less than 3 weeks away!

So, of course I am so behind in blogging!  It’s the time of year, wedding season, my favorite ❤ plus summer time, which means I never have enough daylight to get all the things I want accomplished outside.  Why is it when you have more daylight, darkness seems to come quickly?  Either way, it’s crazy to think that I am still posting weddings from last year, but I am!  Mia & Wyatt’s wedding flowers were perfect for the July date it was.  Historic Rockford Plantation is a beautiful spot in summer, their gardens are filled with perennials & wildflowers.  Mia wanted to capture that feeling beneath the tent, so we chose blooms that would coordinate with the flowers blooming in the garden.  It ended up being carefree, natural, fresh & colorful, with an elegant feel, so of course I loved everything about her day.  Besides having yummy flowers to look at & smell, Mia also had authentic homemade chocolate whoopie pies as her favors.  What’s not to love?

First Friday Lancaster · 0 Comments · May 14, 2011 · Blog ·

I recently had the honor of teaming up with some fab friends & colleagues to celebrate the unveiling of MattnNat photography’s new studio in downtown Lancaster. It coincided with First Friday, had gorgeous May weather, & the best treats from The Couture Cakery . What more could you want on Friday evening? Of course, fresh flowers are needed, so I provided some fun floral designs to accentuate the beautiful photos hanging in the studio. Don’t you just love the linked photos suspended on those rods? My mind is already picturing how great all my favorite bouquets would look hanging in my space!

Thanks for the fun evening everyone!

As the warmer days of spring slowly approach, the anticipation of wedding season is within reach. I love to look back at past weddings for inspiration & to see how colors & trends evolve. Last summer, many weddings had a nod to things vintage, from eclectic milk glass containers, mason jars, & a strong sense of peachy-pink. This year promises much of the same. For these two, it also included white feathers, open garden roses, peonies, & a laid-back vibe. Even though it was one of the hottest days of summer, guests stayed cool all night long with custom cocktails & a Southern style extravaganza.

As I am gearing up for a busy wedding season, I had to look back at last year and post the wedding that started if off. I loved everything about the day. Gorgeous sunshine at Riverdale Manor turned an evening celebration unforgettable. Brittany & her mom Paula, were so sweet & adorable, making it so easy to create flowers that reflected them. Lots of spring flowers were grouped in glass vessels, everything in shades of purple, lavender, white, & green. Ranunculus, tulips, calla lilies, orchids, hydrangea, & lilac, along with a little bit of sparkle from crystals, completed the couture garden party event. A decadent cake from Byers Butterflake Bakery , covered in the deepest shade of eggplant fondant imaginable. The true icing on the cake…pictures from the super talented Kris & John McElligott of KM Photography . One word sums it all up…divine!

Below are more images I captured…how I love pomanders. Luxe & Sweet!

Brie + Nathan · 0 Comments · Apr 5, 2011 · Blog, Featured ·

I first met Brie & Nathan only a few weeks before their wedding (although we had emailed quite a bit)!  A beautiful, intimate gathering of family & friends celebrated with them on a very cold, wintry January day. The American Music Theater was the perfect place to say I Do, followed by a gourmet feast at John J. Jeffries inside Lancaster Arts Hotel . A gorgeous gold thread detail on her dress became the creation point for all the details of the day.  Classic, sleek flowers with an organic feel, using ivory, cream, gold, & green. What a beautiful color palette, so sophisticated!  Lush garden roses, calla lilies & freesia, along with gold crespedia & navajo berry…yummy!  Even yummier, House of Clarendon coordinated the patterns of Brie’s dress & Nathan’s tie, creating a delectable cake. MattnNat photography provided these wonderful images, capturing the emotion perfectly!  I’m anxious to work with them again…especially when I realized Matt is an old family friend, funny how weddings bring everyone together!

Natural Bling…How I love raw cotton! · 0 Comments · Mar 29, 2011 · Blog, Featured ·

This table from the I Do in Style bridal show gave the feeling of natural luxury. Raw cotton, succulents, brooches, crystals, quince branches, moss, French tulips, lotus pods & spider mums…gorgeous! The sweetest wren detail, complete with feather eggs & metallic & tiffany blue color accents created a natural opulence. Who wouldn’t love cotton & crystals together?

Amber Glass / Bronze Iron Inspiration · 0 Comments · Mar 29, 2011 · Blog, Featured ·

This past February, I designed flowers for a couture bridal show, I Do In Style. Each table design featured a different concept & color palette, while overall achieving a coordinated look. Bronzed iron & amber glass, along with white china, and ivory/chocolate linens completed the setting. Cream roses, French tulips, hanging amaranthus, golden wheat, cymbidium orchids, pheasant feathers, lotus pods, sola flowers, and white anemones were perfect in creating organic, natural designs, with a gilded look. I love mixing styles, giving the unexpected!
